Looking back on 2024 and ahead to 2025

We had a busy 2024 right up until Christmas and are excited to keep the momentum going into 2025 with a range of projects on the horizon.

Our work with long-standing partners has continued, and we’ve also completed projects for new clients. In addition, we’ve expanded our services and have settled well into our new home in Middlesbrough.

Ongoing partnerships

We’ve been working with café company Benugo, travel experts Trailfinders and opticians Specsavers for many years, and this has continued through 2024 and into 2025. We carry out brand new fit-outs as well as refurbishments and display upgrades.

For Trailfinders, we are undertaking a variety of site fit-outs as the company continues to expand. Last year, this included working at premises in Ealing Broadway, Windsor and Carlisle. 2025 looks set to be even busier, with a programme of work including around a dozen sites to fit out across the UK.

We were also busy in London with projects for Benugo, working in some of the capital’s best-known tourist hotspots. Although many people have not heard of Benugo, they have most likely been in one of the company’s many cafés without realising. These cafés arte often unbranded but can be found within many universities, colleges, theatres and visitor attractions country-wide.

We completed café fit-outs at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral last year. We are currently on site at The Barbican and will shortly be starting work on all the outbuildings and cafes at Regents Park.

And our work with Specsavers continued with around 10 to 15 projects last year, and more to come in 2025.

New clients in 2024

We were delighted to begin working with Korean and Asian supermarket Oseyo on a couple of projects in London last year. More schemes are in the pipeline for 2025, including one in Sheffield.

Among our other projects for new clients was fitting out the VIP areas including some really nice-looking bars at the Co-Op Arena in Manchester.

We also completed a shop fit-out for up-and-coming jewellery chain Lovisa and had a change of scene from retail and commercial when we carried out an electrical fit-out for the UK’s largest children’s day nursery group, Busy Bees.

We also picked up a reactive maintenance contract for the Middlesbrough depot of Bertschi, a global logistics service provider for the chemical industry. Our work has included fixing faulty lighting, a switch to LED lighting across the whole site, putting in a brand new aspiration system, and replacing parts on machinery and equipment.

Our work and services

Ninety per cent of our work is on retail, commercial and industry fit-outs. Most of our work comes through the main contractor, but occasionally we are directly appointed.

We generally undertake the following for clients:
• Electrical and wiring systems
• Lighting including emergency lighting
• Fire alarms
• Data cabling

We can also offer security systems to ensure all a client’s electrical requirements are covered.

New service – reactive maintenance

In response to growing demand, last year we launched a new service which complements our current work.

We have moved into reactive maintenance as it’s become ever more apparent that this service is required by the companies we work with. We are able to add it on to the other work we are carrying out or offer it as a separate package.

Listed buildings

We are experienced in undertaking electrical installations within listed buildings and navigating the challenges this brings.

In fact, listed buildings make up 80% of the Trailfinders premises we work in. This includes places like Windsor and Kingston upon Thames, where there is a lot of conservation work to be carried out alongside our projects.
