A look back on projects from 2022

We’ve been busy during 2022 with a variety of electrical projects for both longstanding and new clients. Our work has taken us around the UK to some exciting developments as well as refurbishment and expansion schemes.

Here we take a look at some of our projects from 2022.

Retail sector

As experienced electrical contractors for the retail sector, we’ve worked on a range of store fit-outs this year, many of them for regular clients including Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Specsavers, Eurochange and Trailfinders.

One of the major schemes we had the pleasure of working on during September and October was the new Battersea Power Station shopping centre. We carried out electrical work at the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger stores, as well as for Ace & Tate opticians and plant-based restaurant chain Clean Kitchen Club. It was great to be part of the redevelopment of this iconic London landmark even though the nature and size of the venue caused a few logistical problems! Well done all round to our expert team who overcame various obstacles to do a cracking job on all the schemes.

Our work for Tommy Hilfiger followed projects at their other new outlets during 2022, including their Wembley store at the start of the year and a fast-track programme at White City Retail Park in Manchester that was completed on time and on budget.

Another well-known fashion brand we worked with during 2022 was Lacoste. We completed a fast track programme for them at Stratford, with all the attention to detail and standard of finish you’d expect from the DRF Electrical team.

And a great project to be involved in was at John Lewis’s flagship store in Oxford Street, London, where we completed works to our usual high and exacting standards for a well-respected client.

Our long association with Specsavers continued this year with projects in various stores and concessions around the country, including in an existing Sainsbury’s store in Wakefield.

We were also delighted to work on a range of branches across the country for another regular client, Trailfinders, including a fast-track programme in Tunbridge Wells. We carried out another fast-track scheme for them in Southampton, this time completing a full design and build electrical package which saw us working closely with both lighting and project designers.

Lush brought us in to complete their new Leicester store, while it was good to be working again with another longstanding client of ours, Eurochange, on their new site in Derby, and to see they’d put all the turmoil caused by Covid behind them.

Medical sector

Early in 2022, the DRF Electrical team was involved in a 26-week programme of works at Aylesbury Medical Centre and an 18-week programme at Berryfields Medical Centre. Both of these were design and build projects taking place over three floors which included treatment rooms, consulting rooms, dental suites, and administration and ancillary areas.

So, another great year for our fantastic team at DRF Electrical, and we can’t wait to see what 2023 will bring!
